Game Summary: Mounties vs. Miners


The Mounties traveled to Edmonton to take on the Miners in a tightly contested lacrosse matchup that ended in an 8-8 tie after overtime.


The Mounties struck first with a quick goal by Callum Zarsky, but the Miners responded soon after to even the score. Caiden Moon capitalized on a power play to regain the lead for the Mounties, though the Miners answered with two unanswered goals to close out the first period ahead.


Just 30 seconds into the second period, Zarsky struck again for the Mounties. The Miners added two more, but the Mounties surged back with two goals from Carter Cook and a third from Zarsky, earning him a hat trick. By the end of the second, the game was tied 6-6.


In the final period, Carter Linkletter scored a highlight-reel behind-the-back goal to give the Mounties the edge. The Miners wouldn’t go quietly, scoring two more but the Mounties Mason Rockley in dramatic fashion, scored a shorthanded equalizer to tie the game up 8-8 with just 41 seconds remaining.


Despite chances in overtime, neither team could find the winner, and the game concluded in a thrilling 8-8 draw.
